Management Team
Proprietor Jon Grieves spent several years opening large out of town restaurants for many of the multi nationals before realising his ambitions to own a restaurant.
With his wife Kirsty Grieves who designed Choice, Jon has created a city centre neighbourhood restaurant that also represents the regions diversity and richness around the globe. Jon’s North West background coupled with his appreciation of national trends and tastes has put Choice on the map and propelled the restaurant to become Manchester Restaurant of the Year 2003 in its second year of operation plus AA Rosette recognition, the Hi-Life Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year award and the 2007 Taste of Manchester Award.
As proprietor he has assembled a management team that reflects his high standards and sense of quality. Deputy Manager Caoilfhionn Farren has worked throughout Ireland and stamps her own personality onto the day to day running. She also developed the wine list which achieved the honour of Best Wine List 2002 in the Manchester Food & Drink Awards. She was brought into Choice to develop standards and deliver customer expectations.
Caoilfhionn’s hospitality background throughout Ireland has brought vast experience in staff development and she works closely with his team to ensure his values are maintained. Her work with the team has been honoured with the Cheshire & Lancashire Life Manchester Restaurant of the Year Runner Up award.
Staff
Many of the team at Choice Bar & Restaurant have worked from day one and alongside the Head Chef are the real reason for the restaurants success. There willingness to continually improve their service style and eagerness to please helps them create a comfortable and efficient environment. Customers and colleagues see them like an extended family that work towards the same mission, ensuring the customer leaves happy and returns.
